Genau das!
Es ist die #carbrain-Taktik von #SPD und Co. Alles dreht sich immer nur um's #Auto. Man darf gar nicht anders denken als in den Kategorien des Autos.
Die sehr viel energieeffizientere Form der #Elektromobilität #Bahn #Straßenbahn #Tram etc. ist ja keine "richtige" Mobilität, weil nicht individualisert. Individuell wäre zwar das #Pedelec, aber ist ja auch kein richtiges Auto

Yesterday I ended my time in Den Haag kind of like I started my visit on Thursday ... with a visit to the Haags Openbaar Vervoer Museum and a 1.5 hour joyride through Den Haag and Scheveningen in this yellow beauty, revisiting some of the Typewalk locations. Buda Castle is a historic palace complex in Budapest, Hungary. It was originally built in the 13th century and has since undergone multiple reconstructions due to wars, fires, and changing architectural styles. The castle sits on Castle Hill (Várhegy) and offers stunning panoramic views of the Danube River and Pest.
First built in 1265 by King Béla IV to defend against Mongol invasions. It was expanded and renovated during the reign of King Matthias Corvinus (15th century) and later saw major Baroque-style reconstruction in the 18th century under Habsburg rule. Nowadays, Buda Castle is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The Chain Bridge (Széchenyi Lánchíd) is one of Budapest’s most iconic landmarks. It was the first permanent bridge to connect Buda and Pest across the Danube River, playing a crucial role in uniting the two sides of the city.
The Chain Bridge is built between 1842 and 1849, designed by William Tierney Clark and constructed by Adam Clark (no relation), and it symbolized Hungary’s modernization and economic growth in the 19th century. The bridge was blown up by retreating German forces in 1945 and later rebuilt in 1949, on its 100th anniversary.
The stone lions at each end of the bridge, sculpted by János Marschalkó, are famous. A local legend humorously claims that the lions have no tongues (but they actually do). At night, the bridge is beautifully illuminated, offering spectacular views of Buda Castle, Parliament, and the Danube.

I want to learn the East Asian student secret of sleeping anywhere convenient (library, cafe, tram) then waking up at the appropriate moment. The young guy opposite me in this tram had a nice nap then woke up just in time for his stop. I am a bit jealous of this skill.

The proposal aim to follow through on previous transport studies which looked at reopening the southern suburban railway in some capacity but consistently ran into issues of capacity at Haymarket & Waverley stations.
The new proposal will aim to avoid the central 2 stations and instead connect with the tram system at Murrayfield.

Pour la série "nostalgie ferroviaire" de ce soir (et des suivants), retour en mars 2002 lors d'une visite à Stuttgart pour un voyage spécial en tramway (je dois encore scanner les photos).
Pour ce soir, deux lignes particulières du réseau des SSB : le "Zacke", ligne de tramways à crémaillère qui relie sous le numéro 10 la Marienplatz à Degerloch et le funiculaire (Seilbahn) qui relie la Südheimer Platz au Waldfriedhof.

For tonight's (and next days) "railway nostalgia" series, back to March 2002 during a visit to Stuttgart for a special tram trip (I still have to scan the photos).
For tonight, two special lines of the SSB network: the "Zacke", a cogwheel tram line that connects Marienplatz to Degerloch under number 10 and the funicular (Seilbahn) that connects Südheimer Platz to the Waldfriedhof.
