@slevelt Beautiful! Btw you have probably discovered the Lilydale to Warburton rail trail bike path nearby? Catch a suburban train to Lilydale then do a day ride (whole way or shorter) or stay overnight in Warburton. Great scenery, food options and you may get to ride past horse riders who share the wide path

if you're the kind of Australian who's interested in having a physical street atlas for the current year - be warned, UBD Gregory's is shutting down.

Rumor is Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide, and Perth will get one more edition in August[?], but for everywhere else (seemingly including Melbourne and Tasmania), what's on shelves is probably the final edition.

now please excuse me while i tag spam

one of the #Melbourne suburbs I drive through on the school run is virtually a free furniture store from all the things the locals put out, and today I found exactly the set of shelves we still needed for our @vinylrecords 🥳

also, plenty room for expansion of the collection 😅

I live in inner Melbourne in a fairly high density urban area. I am constantly amazed at how many birds there are. It is dawn here atm and I am listening to the sounds of lots of birds waking up punctuated by the occasional sound of traffic even though I live close to a major vehicular thoroughfare through our suburb.

It is helped by the fact that we live reasonably close to the Yarra River which has lots of trees lining its banks.

I have had a lazy Sunday, but I did repot some of the plants I bought at the Melbourne Flower and Garden Festival yesterday. Pictured are a couple of brachyscome plants and a pig face as well as some succulents I divided from one of Mum's succulents.

I also repotted a cyclamen that was crowded out of the pot stand pictured. As you can see, one cyclamen has grown exceptionally well. The others self-seeded. I have left 2 others in the stand as they can see light and have a bit of room for growth.

The seeds planted by our group on our potting morning a couple of weeks ago have sprouted. We planted coriander, thyme and basil. The oregano seeds have not sprouted yet. Today I moved them into a sunnier position for their next stage of growth.

It is great to be over the searing heat and dryness of summer. While we still need a lot of rain to catch up, I have been finding the cooler temperatures have meant less evaporation and therefore less watering. We have also benefited from being in precisely the right place to catch rain from small, passing storms - pure luck

#StrongRoomAI, the #Melbourne #pharmacy #software #startup valued at almost $70 million (AUD) this month, has been placed into administration a week after one of its biggest investors accused it of misrepresenting its finances.

Good morning tooters. What a week it has been. This is the latest I’ve slept in & the slowest start I’ve had for a day in for such a long time. From not sleeping too well at my house sit most of last week, to having to get up well before dawn for my trip to #Melbourne yesterday, a full on day & then not getting home until 9pm last night.
I’ve just finished my breakfast but still have my coffee to drink. I think this whole day will be slow, but I do like the idea of doing a reset #Balance class though. We will see. I know I was absolutely knackered when I finally got to bed last night.
It’s going to be a very pleasant #Weather day today, it’s only 22c right now but feels a little cooler, it’s supposed to be getting to 26c which will be just lovely. I should really mow the lawns too, but I think I’ll leave that until tomorrow.
The International Flower Show in #Melbourne yesterday was fabulous, way too many people which was a little overwhelming for me, but I was able to ignore it for the post part. The #Flowers though were awesome. I’ll sort through my photos later & post up some of my favourites of which I have many 🤣. I came home with just one little purchase of some pretty daffodil bulbs. Great day, tiring day - so good to be back home 😊.

Victorian folk: if you didn’t get started using the container deposit scheme when it launched because you didn’t have a convenient deposit location, you might wanna check again. I just discovered one has recently appeared in my neighbourhood. If you’re not fussed about getting the refund yourself you can donate it directly to charity
