Good morning, Glasgow. It looks like it's going to be another sunny spring day. Enjoy!
Hey Elon, how about reviving Archibald Watt's Sky Carriage as mode of luxury transportation? It's just as viable as your Hyperloop idea, and you get to travel in real style, too! Of course, there are still a few wrinkles which need ironed out, but how cool would it be to be able to travel by giant catapult?
This plaque is sited on Queen Street opposite the statue of the Duke of Wellington, probably the most famous example of the tradition of Coning anywhere in Glasgow.
It's now been almost a year since the Glasgow tradition of putting cones on statues gained official protection under the UNESCO 2003 Convention for the Safeguarding of Intagible Cultural Heritage. You can read about the ancient origins of this tradition on this plaque which we erected to mark this auspicious occasion.
Is it just me, or do these railings on Otago Street in Glasgow look a row of people standing with their arms over their heads?

I love this little building. It's the former primary school in the village of Croftamie about 15 miles outside of Glasgow. Built in 1907, it closed in 1997 and is now used as a pre-school nursery.
Gushet tenement overlooking the River Kelvin in the West End of Glasgow.
Queen Mary's Stone on Court Knowe in the Cathcart area of Glasgow. This stone supposedly marks the spot where Mary Queen of Scots watched the Battle of Langside in 1568, where her army was soundly beaten. However, it seems unlikely that this was the actual spot from where she watched the battle as it was close to Cathcart Castle, which was held by a supporter of her opponent, James Stewart, Earl of Moray.
Columns of bow windows (the curved versions of bay windows) on Glasgow tenements. Such projecting windows increase the area of glass in them and so maximises the amount of light which enters the building.
A wonderful lion pillaster on the combined drinking fountain and lamp in Dowanhill Park in the west end of Glasgow. It was made in 1903 by the MacFarlane and Co foundry in Possilpark, one of Scotland's most important manufacturer of ornamental iron work between 1850 and 1965.
Good morning, Glasgow. After yesterday's rain, there's some early morning sunshine today, and it's lighting up these blonde sandstone tenements on the corner of Byres Road and Highburgh Road in the West End of Glasgow rather nicely.
A statue of the Glaswegian broadcaster, writer, climber and all round outdoor enthusiast Tom Weir at Balmaha on the banks of Loch Lomond. Unveiled in 2014 to mark the centenary of his birth, it was created by the sculptor Sean Hedges-Quinn.
This pretty much sums up what the weather's been like here in Glasgow today.
Good day, fixed one kettle, couldn't fix another kettle, a toaster and a CD player. Brought a coffee machine home to try and get into it when I can watch YouTube on a bigger screen.
The Knowe, Albert Drive, Glasgow. This beautiful Romanesque villa was designed by Alexander 'Greek' Thomson and was constructed as a country house in several stages in the 1850s.
