@sergio_101 Maybe some aprs filter can show only those stations active in packet/bbs?

So, I am finally updating my #GeminiCapsule #Gemlog .
This time, it's about getting my #PacketRadio station put back up for the first time since like 1992. it works!
But this posting makes me wonder about the present state of the #Gemini protocol. More later.

In 2021, the german #DARC received 179,690€ from the #ARDC to correct and update the #Linux #AX25 #packetradio #kernel stack.
https://www.ardc.net/apply/grants/2021-grants/grant-fixing-the-linux-kernel-ax-25/
Since that day, NOTHING is available anywhere. The dedicated web site (linux-ax25.org) is non-existant and all about this project (and the money) vanished.
Has anyone any information about the status of this project? Where is the code? Where the money went?
So, I've been learning #GraphDatabases with #Neo4j this week. I think it would be SUPER fun to recursivlely do an mheard on all the #PacketRadio nodes, to help establish paths around the country.
Just casually playing with old #ham #msdos #packetradio software #GraphicPacket, my favorite in the 90's, in a #DosBoxX window.
I'm thrown 30 years back and thrilled to have managed to make it work with a #KISS modem and #TFKISS resident driver (a NordLink TNC2 "TheFirmware" emulator for MSDOS).
Btw, I am preaparing some real hardware (Pentium 233) to make that work on, with a legendary 1200 bauds packet-radio #BayCom modem...
Did a roadtrip with my mobile #aprs digipeter ( #ftm500 #yaesu) today with my #uvpro monitoring with #aprsfi To my phone. Was about a 4.5 hour drive. Pretty interesting to see all the stations! It was also cool I could monitor on my FTM-500 and the UV-Pro at the same time. #photo #photography #amateurradio #hamradio #packetradio #baofeng #btech
My mobile APRS Digipeter doesn’t look suspicious at all… once up and running it pulls 0.11 Amps. With that 4.5Amp battery it should last 36 hours at 90% efficiency give or take. I can’t imagine trying to take this on a plane! #bioenno #aprs #digipeter #digirig #amateurradio #hamradio #packetradio #direwolf #photo
Quick trips need things to do during downtime!
- CW Practice Kit
- Portable APRS Digipeter Kit (for FTM-500d)
- UV-Pro
- Cool organizer bags w/ Labels
In this article astronomers were listening between 80 to 300MHz and were getting TV signals as RFI, lol . But I bet you could use a Yagi to “plane bounce” some VHF APRS traffic. Has this been done? I just had to Dahl-E that as a concept! https://phys.org/news/2025-02-unexpected-tv-method-filtering-unwanted.html #hamradio #amateurradio #aprs #packetradio #planebounce
Is here anyone in my #hamradio bubble who can connect my #packetradio BBS to his PR-BBS via S&F? And of course, node linking would be great too.
Wrote a little win32 console utility to set the internal clock of a couple of packet radio TNCs I own. Can be set for local time or UTC #packetradio #hamradio
I've got my Callsign for "my" #Packetradio #BBS and Node. If you are close to JO43 then try out DB0APK-7 (Node) or DB0APK-9 (BBS) at 438.150MHz with 9k6.
I think it's worth me doing a new #Introduction:
Hi! I'm Chris! I write code, I make things, and I parent.
My posts are generally about a few key areas: #Programming, #HamRadio, #TTRPG and #Parenting.
As far as programming, I mostly focus on #DotNet #CSharp professionally, with a smattering of #WebDev using #TypeScript. For my "not professional" development, I do a lot of #GameDev in #Godot (usually using C#, though not always!), and I adore #FunctionalProgramming, particularly in #FSharp, but also in many other languages! I stream software and game development on Twitch at https://twitch.tv/b4ux1t3. The schedule on there is not currently correct (January 2025), but should be soon.
When it comes to ham radio, I mostly focus on #DigitalModes, though I do a little bit of #POTA and #SOTA (well, I want to, anyway!). I'm a big user of #APRS and #PacketRadio. I try to be active on #YSF via the inimitable KJ7OMO@mastodon.radio's (edit: removed the mention here to prevent accidental mentions!) pride radio network, though mostly I listen. If you'd like my callsign, feel free to DM me. I do not list it publicly, but I'm not shy about handing it out in a more private setting.
Regarding TTRPG, I'm mostly a forever GM who runs #ShadowdarkRPG, #BladesInTheDark, #MorkBorg and #Mausritter, though I love most #OSR games and often mix and match rules and stuff. I don't _hate_ #DnD, #dnd5e or otherwise, it's just not the sort of thing I enjoy running. I also GM professionally on https://startplaying.games/gm/b4ux1t3!
Outside of that, some of my posts are about #Crochet, #BookBinding, #Woodworking, #Mathematics, #Linguistics, #TokiPona and, well, lots of other things
I have lots of links in my profile if you'd like to know more about me!
I found a text archive of ham radio related Usenet groups spanning the years 1995 and 1996. The index created by Recoll is about 700MB but now I can search for hidden treasure. #hamradio #packetradio #usenet
Oh I still own my Montreal Packet radio modem I built in 1980? on a 24 pin card for an AIM6502 I wrote my version of the Packet Assembly Disassembly PAD in 6502 assmebler and we communicated with the Montreal packet radio folks via a repeater.
Yes there are EXAR modem parts on that board.
Current Projects
- All things packet radio (party like it's 1999!)
- All things SDR (snoop onto them like they snoop onto us)
- HAM Radio shack build (nerd, and proud of it)
Playing with WINTNC and Robust Packet on 14102.3 USB today #packetradio #hamradio #robustpacket
The SCS Tracker TNC has a frequency tracking mode (HF Packet) implemented with the %T command.

It's been a while since I attempted to do any #PacketRadio. Managed to get qtTerm talking to Direwolf again. Attempting to connect to a station triggers radio transmit no problem. I can hear on receive audio, but I'm not seeing decodes anywhere.
I do remember seeing stuff the last time I tried, so I'll have to troubleshoot what I'm doing differently this time.
