Or is dial watch enough to work a satellite with a mode U/V transceiver?

Did a roadtrip with my mobile #aprs digipeter ( #ftm500 #yaesu) today with my #uvpro monitoring with #aprsfi To my phone. Was about a 4.5 hour drive. Pretty interesting to see all the stations! On top of everything else, I’m a licensed ham radio bug.

My call sign is K2OOI (I’m a huge Stanley Kubrick fan) but it’s actually not what it looks like.

FCC regulations dictate that the last three characters in this format have to be exactly that – characters, not numbers.

So while it *looks* like 2001, it’s actually 2ooi. Or as they say in NATO phonetics:

Kilo Two Oscar Oscar India.

- Kann man das gut alleine daheim lernen?
- Wie viel Zeit muss man ca. dafür aufwenden?
- Muss man zur Prüfung echt nach Berlin, Dortmund, Dresden, Erfurt, ... fahren?
- Was braucht man sinnvoll an Equipment zum Anfang? Reicht so ein Handgerät a la #Baofeng, oder eher vintage Tischgerät, SDR?
