Keith Sweat (with Jacci McGhee) "Make It Last Forever" US Vintertainment/Elektra 1988

Title track from his 1987 album, and a follow up to the crossover hit "I Want Her". This was when cassette singles started to take off in the US. Singles were kinda weird in 1988; this release was one of several got released on 7" vinyl, cassette and 3" CD. It didn't take long for 5" CDs to be the norm, cassettes fade by mid 90s, and vinyl be limited to indie labels and jukeboxes.

After looking through all the DVDs and Blurays at the #DollarGeneral it came down to this Buck Rogers Season One collection of 21 episodes and Talk Radio by Oliver Stone and Eric Bognosian. Talk Radio is one of the VERY few Stone films I enjoy because it is mostly the brainchild of the great actor/playwright Eric Bognosian, so it was tempting but this was just so much more total content for the same price.

This is dangerous: after months of keeping their DVDs and Blurays only behind the counter where you can't even thumb through them, the Dollar General near me has put out a display of mostly super cheap (many $5 or less) discs and I'm thinking of walking back there to look through them later cause I was on a time crunch when I was there earlier cause I had somebody waiting out in the car for me.

Here is the rest of Arrow Video's releases for June 2025. All the UK releases can be ordered from Rarewaves.com (cheaper than directly from Arrow themselves) and if you use the code SPRING10, that's an extra 10% off.

So I just pre-ordered Dark City (4K) for a mere £23.70!

My early evening listening session has been rudely interrupted by a bunch of #paradiselost albums disappearing from streaming services. Not just Qobuz but Apple Music as well.

'In Requiem' was the first one I noticed, but even The Plague Within and Tragic Idol have gone. There's now a huge gap between 1999 and 2017.

A timely reminder that unless you hold the DRM-free files on your hard drive, on CD or vinyl, they can disappear at any time. #physicalmedia

Decided I'm *finally* going to watch Us (2019), directed by Jordan Peele, starring Lupita Nyong'o, Winston Duke, Shahadi Wright Joseph, Evan Alex, Elisabeth Moss, and Tim Heidecker. It's psychological horror. Peele's just so great.

After that I'm going to watch Irresistible (2006), directed by Ann Turner, starring Susan Sarandon, Sam Neill, and Emily Blunt. It's a mystery? About obsession?
