Snap poll: So I've just fallen asleep 4 times while reading a book. Blender is currently rendering, and as there is little I can do atm, I'm allowing myself a movie tonight.

The options are the following. Which one should it be?

🏞️📅 This Day in #History: John Muir, Father of National Parks

On this day in 1838, John Muir was born in #Scotland. This pioneering naturalist's camping trip with Pres. Theodore Roosevelt in #Yosemite in 1903 helped save the valley from development and strengthened the movement to protect America's natural treasures.

If you've ever visited Northern #California, you've encountered Muir's name on trails, forests, and landmarks—a testament to his enduring legacy in #conservation that continues to influence efforts balancing public access with ecological #preservation across America's 421 national park sites.

Work in progress...

Finally finding some time to continue working on my earlier thi.ng/boids experiments, now also using WebGL instancing and floating point render textures for super-smooth blending/trails to create aesthetics reminiscent of sea anemones...

(Update: I've decided on the beautiful-sounding and fitting #Actiniaria as project title...)

On this date (April 17) in 1937, a duck later known as Daffy made his debut in a cartoon called Porky’s Duck Hunt, which was animated by Bob Clampett and directed by Tex Avery. Daffy was an unnamed duck in this black and white short, and he was something new to moviegoers-- an assertive, combative, screwball, totally unrestrained character. Audiences were buzzing about this ‘daffy’ duck.

Daffy was really the first screwball character in cartoons. He was given the name 'Daffy' later, in his first color cartoon in 1939.
