I added a chicken squawk as one of the tail messages on my repeater, and it makes me smile every time I hear it.
Today I:
- got a haircut
- renewed my drivers licence
- had success across all the puzzles
Today’s #ThreeGoodThings:
- I had a positive day working from home
- I used the word ‘perchance’ in a text message
- I am making mashed potato for dinner (we are not having only mash for dinner, but alongside other things)
I must admit to being quite pleased with that lazy LED update effect :)
#SimpleThings and all that...
Today’s #ThreeGoodThings:
- I tried something new in my lecture at the last minute and it actually worked really well!
- I enjoyed being the guest speaker at the Inclusive UC Challenge event launch (a Uni of Canterbury social challenge for students - this year they are tasked with designing an inclusive event, which is what I’m passionate about)
- I had a nice but slow walk home in the last of the sunny warmth after a big day!
Today’s #ThreeGoodThings:
- I had a great class with my postgrads
- I listened to a podcast while eating lunch
- I was super glad that Past Me had frozen a chicken stirfry dinner for just this moment in time when I was too tired to cook
Today’s #ThreeGoodThings:
- I slept in
- I listened to Ep #3 of The Prayer Course
- I made a yummy courgette soup for dinner
So basically I rested and did as little as possible! Still not sure I am ready for another teaching week, but hey ho…
In today’s edition of #ThreeGoodThings…
- I enjoyed the warmth of another lovely autumn day after a cooler early morning walk
- I supported our local independent fruit and veg shop, and got some new season apples
- I enjoyed seeing my students start working in their groups to design and deliver an event for other students later in the semester
Today’s #ThreeGoodThings:
- I biked to work
- I had a laugh with a colleague
- Our new passionfruit vine has two flowers!
#SimpleThings
I forgot to post yesterday, but rest assured there were good things!
Today’s #ThreeGoodThings:
- I started one of my jigsaw puzzles at last
- Hubby’s back is so much better, we were able to go for a couple of walks!
- I cooked a yummy roast chicken and we can have the leftovers tomorrow night so I don’t have to cook
Today’s #ThreeGoodThings…
- I finished my course prep!*
- hubby’s back has improved further
- we had crumbed gurnard and salad for tea
* Two simple words that, in my case, means revising and updating 12 weeks of lecture/seminar/workshop slides, video explainer recordings, textbook and journal articles for course readings, discussion board activities, assessments, short welcome videos, student prep notes and course outlines (syllabus) for 3 courses! Whew!
Today:
- I had baked beans on toast for dinner
- took my adult daughter for another great driving lesson
- daughter and son came for a nice two-hour visit afterwards
An assortment of dad's hammers that I found while cleaning out the shop after his death.
There's a story in the nicks and bites on each handle.
A female Ruby-throated Hummingbird makes a nectar-refreshed takeoff after bellying up to the sugar water bar.
Ok, #cplusplus folks, I am slowly going crazy.
I want to initialize a constexpr array of string-pairs—without being an idiot.
The two obvious ways are shown in the snippet. Clearly, neither is satisfactory.
What are my options? And why is this so difficult!?
Awakened by thunder and pouring rain, rain that is expected all day long (day two … sigh), I searched for some virtual sunshine and found this golden yellow beauty from last September.
