Three good things for today: 4/23/2025
1. Water turned on and the sprinklers are now up and running.
2. Fresh strawberries.
3. Made spaghetti and a big batch of home-made tomato-meat sauce. That's diner for the next several days.

- a loyalty card free coffee at the garden centre
- got our Covid boosters at a convenient local pharmacy
It has been a while for me…
1. Only 5 more days of this long term occasional position and then I will “re-retire”.
2. Glorious day for a walk with my oldest daughter and our fur-baby.
3. Pedicure day! My toes are ready for spring now!
Three good things #threegoodthings
My mom is back at the hospital again and my Dad isn’t very good at this so… I’m feeling a load of distress. But…
- I was able to get caught up at work somewhat.
- I’m making some progress with weight loss.
- the shorts I bought unseen came and they are perfect.
Now, if my parents can sort themselves…
I started listening to A People's History of Computing in the United States and it's very interesting
The PallasCat hashtag is great; I suggest you follow it
The apple (?) tree blossoms are very close to flowering
Today's good things included:
- running: with perfect temperature and humidity, it felt easy, and I think that was the fastest run since K3
- productivity: it's coming back, so I must have recharged indeed
- seal colony cuddles: tired kids piled on me, and it was warm and cozy for like five minutes before they started shoving and wrestling for the best place
#threegoodthings #3goodthings :

- Cosmos flower planted.
- appreciating what I have.
1) first glass of iced tea of the season
2) helped a friend with some yard work
3) a good night's sleep

Practiced both timing and public speaking last night. At a school board meeting, but it's a transferrable skill. Wrote an inside joke that got the laugh.
Got wheels back under my feet, several months after strain injury. Hopefully I can temper myself with patience and have no repeats that caused the hold up.
We're sleeping in later these days, it's nice.

ambivalent thing: I dreamed of an asparagus monster. I love asparagus, and no one prepared me for this.
Today:
- I made it home from my walk before the rain got heavy
- I watched some of the new series of Time Team and really enjoyed that
- I washed the tea towels I’ve been collecting from op shops, ready to start making another bedcover/throw
#threegoodthings today
- Voted
- Scanned every page of my irreplaceable field guide with its 40 years of birding observations around #Australia
- Made plum jam before the end of the plum season

1) Spouse had a conversation that translated to “can you get me something small & new” with a gallery owner on Saturday and just knocked it out of the park. (She is not on this platform - so I get no benefit from singing her praises here. Not that I would pass up a chance if she were!)
2) A job application I thought got silently rejected weeks ago just turned into a first interview.
3) No one wanted to go shopping, but cobbled an edible dinner from odds & ends!
- managed to cheat myself out of having to go to the office in person this week, I guess
- I won't tell you
- managed two walks with my imaginary dog #Wuffi and met a cousin on one of them, with whom I had a short talk

Three good things for today: 4/22/2025
1, 2, & 3. Chilling on the patio, listening to the birds, and sipping a glass of wine.
Today's good things included:
- a long walk: time alone, time to observe, time to think, time to recharge
- helpful strangers: who looked up heresies for me and tried to point me to a more orthodox understanding of the Trinity
- writing: I finished a thing! And I have ideas for the next thing!

Tuesday, April 22 Catching up
1. Made & froze quarts of (fabulous) bolognese sauce for future pasta delights. Took time & effort but it’s so much better than the expensive frozen dinners!
2. Relieved & happy to see all four squirrels show up for peanuts today — a hawk raided my garden yesterday & I was afraid it had kidnapped one.
3. Vagabond son & DIL will be here tomorrow for a week’s stay.
4. Bonus: More roses brightening my days outside.
Went for a seawall walk with a very sweet friend two days in a row. Found a guerilla community garden in a foreclosed lot. Enjoyed breathing.
