@meganL yikes. We're experiencing a reversal on infrastructure here in #Boston, too. The Mayor seems to be mulling a cynical campaign pivot to meet her opponent's anti-bike bids to the #CarCentrism chuds. Lots of existing improvements under threat pending a "review" (poll, I'm sure) period

we had a lovely e-trike (Lectric) riding with #CriticalMass #Boston last week in some protest action to compliment some lobbying action to encourage the Mayor not to make a cynical campaign pivot to #CarCentrism to compete with her anti-bike opponent.

It was a pleasure to have #Trike representation in our mass. It left me thinking about how wonderful it is that we can move in different ways, but share the joy of riding, and stand as political allies. And about how that kind of solidarity isn't specific to bikes in a life well lived.

Doing with the #KMX #recumbent #trike what it was built for (KMX stands for Kart #BMX): Doing silly and fun things like #drifting and #powerslide|s. And tipping over when the #slowmotion finally worked.

So here you see me in slow motion proving that you really can tip over a low tadpole style recumbent trike, even with less friction having knobby MTB tires on tarmac. 🤪

P.S.: I'm fine. I tipped over about half of all tries. It was a lot of fun! 😁

Does anyone here have a recommendation for a side-by-side adult trike or quad bike?

My parents want to be more active, but one has balance and knee issues, while the other has leg strength issues. If I could get them on one bike or e-bike I think they would cruise the town.

(One parent is oddly particular about having MTB tires as they live on a gravel bike trail 🤷🏼‍♂️)

Gave my girlfriend the boost she needed to get her #Trike washed up, and I helped her do her checks, and fluids.

It started right up and she was able to get it moved out but dang, the reverse engagement on the #Spyder Limited is a huge clunk!

She just ran off to the auto store to get a few things. Guess she finally wants to ride now that it’s getting cooler 🤣.

Don’t know if she is cleaning it up to ride or to trade for a #harleydavidson Tri or RG3 😳 she mentioned them this morning. I would not mind if mama got a matching H-D trike to mine 😋

So excited to have a few days of riding coming up. Worked it so this wedding I gotta go will be a solo trip down to hood river and back.

Gonna go east and south over the cascades into the Columbia basin and ride the valley on the Oregon side.

On the way back, I will either go west and north through Mt. Saint Helens, or further west up and through Olympia.

Base route is 450 miles/725km round trip. If I can roll up to the observation point on Saint Helens, that would crank it up a bit.

I should spend more time posting about my happy place. 😃

A week ago Sunday my youngest son and I took off for a trike ride together late on what was a pretty perfect summer's day before it got too hot. We were heading straight up hill to and through an area known as Knutsford.

About 20 minutes in, my son wasn't sure he was going to be able to go much further. I said that was fine, and suggested that we weren't in any hurry, he could gear down, let the assist work more with him and try to find a nice easy pace where he may not notice much effort being put in any longer. And what do you know, he found a better pace, found his legs a bit, and managed to keep going through more than 25km of mostly climb. The best part is that he was happy the whole way. We made animal noises at the cows and horses that we passed, talked about farm equipment along the way (a favourite interest of his), and enjoyed the varied terrain we were riding over, with only a bit of exception over some fairly jostling gravel road.

I tell 'ya, the comfort and ease of use of these trikes sure makes for a fantastic riding experience. I could probably finish any and all of my riding posts with that statement.
