They're emotional states are depicted and range from bored, paranoid, tearful, blah, puzzled, avaricious, shocked, terrified, fill with longing, etc... Old note paper, maps, currency, etc... comprise some of the paper they are drawn on. NOTE: This description created especially for my lovely blind friend, Georgiana. :-)
