🌜 Death or love tonight 💕🔞

Been playing around with the customization of my blogs for a few days now, just cause. I really like how they've come out so far.

Thank God to small developers who make free themes that we can play around with.

Very exciting news about #Ghost, the blogging software I use for my website, beta testing their new social web integration! Activating it enables direct interaction with blogs on #Wordpress and soon #Tumblr, #Mastodon and the whole #Fediverse, as well as #BlueSky and #Threads according to their changelog:

As a self-hosting user I'll have to wait for a stable release but I am thrilled!

While reading the social web documentation of @index, I discovered that Tumblr is on their way to integrate with the social web after migrating their backend to WordPress.

Does anyone know of any good quality blogs from Tumblr? Just wondering if it will be a win for the Fediverse, or if the vast majority of those millions of blogs are just low to average content.

@javi yeah i mean writing Goblin is not exactly easy lol.

i have been thinking about making a simple bridge between #Tumblr and the #Fediverse though? there seems to be a need to actively archive Tumblr blogs, and may as well federate if you have the data.

@Martin Holland Ditch Mastodon.

Move to Friendica.

Refollow everyone on Friendica whom you follow on Mastodon.

Integrate your Bluesky account directly into Friendica. Your Bluesky contacts will become Friendica contacts. No Bridgy Fed bridge needed.

Then you have one unified timeline stream with Friendica and Mastodon and the whole rest of the Fediverse and Bluesky. And diaspora*. And Tumblr (yes, right now already). And Libertree. Etc.

Better yet: You can send one and the same post to the Fediverse and to Bluesky and to diaspora* etc. all at once and receive comments from all these places under the same post.

Even better yet: A Friendica post can be as long as 400 Mastodon toots. And it can contain just about every kind of text formatting that's possible with HTML, up to and including a virtually unlimited number of images embedded in-line (instead of a maximum of four images always only dangling under the post as file attachments). And it can have a title.

Only two caveats: You'll probably need an account on a Friendica node in the USA to be able to federate with Threads. Even then you're at Meta's mercy because it's up to them whether that node is allowed to connect to Threads or not, and Friendica nodes are very likely to not be allowed to connect because Friendica's culture may collide with Threads' federation requirements.

Also, Friendica can't do polls.

Is Tumblr on the Fediverse?

A couple years back we heard that #tumblr was working to add #ActivityPub support and join the #fediverse.

Attached is an article from 2013 discussing exactly this folllowing the sale of Twitter.

Anyone know how that went? Is Tumblr connected now, or what happened? Where we at.

Firstly it's an ARCHIVE it's not designed to algorithmically 'Feed' you 'Content'

Someone created some fiction because they are a fan of a thing FOR FREE !
