Will Canada become not just a safe-haven for Americans fleeing #TheAmericanFascist but also a key place for those Americans to speak up against what is happening in the USA and organizing resistance?

Of course, this all assumes Canada doesn't go any further down the same road as the USA

(our Universities have also been complicit)

It looks like 338 has corrected its riding level projections a bit (perhaps there has been more focused regional polling?). The Liberal and Green vote share is now a little closer to what we would expect, even in a strong Liberal year, around 15-20%. The Liberals don’t factor here much and still haven’t announced a candidate.

Edit: correction, A Liberal candidate has been nominated: Brian Cameron. Haven’t found any information about him.

The redistribution from the LPC boosts all three other parties.

There is a PPC candidate here. I am surprised it is not on the chart. I would expect them to get 1-5% of the vote here so that is another factor 338 is not currently handling well.

One week into the election! 4 to go!
After bottoming out to 6% in the first week of the election, is the NDP starting to see a rebound?

Two of the most recent four polls have them at 11%.

Perhaps the ascension of Carney has sunk in and people are starting to more seriously look at how this election might actually turn out and what it means for them in their riding.

It could also be a result of #TheAmericanFascist’s words and Danielle Smith’s cozying spooking some soft CPC folks back over to the NDP.

Hey guys. Did anyone else notice little gem from a *Fortune* article on Pierre?

“Meanwhile, Canada’s toned-down version of Donald Trump, Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre, has seen his support slump amid a wave of newfound nationalism north of the border.”

… you heard it here first PP = “toned down” DT #TheAmericanFascist

😂 Never thought I would cheer for an article from Fortune. 😂

#TheAmericanFascist just referred to "Prime Minister Mark Carney” in his post after the phone call with the PM and that “both the United States of American and Canada" will benefit in future cooperation after the election.

Is this the end of the annexation/51st State talk?

“Academics asked to confirm that their work doesn't deal with 'gender ideology,' 'environmental justice’”

The only remotely positive thing I can take from this is that EXTREMELY bright lines are being drawn and one side will be people who believe that all people are equal and loved no matter their situation, that democracy is essential, and we should not burn down the world.

What side are you on?

CBC'Most unusual' questionnaire sent to Canadian researchers receiving U.S. federal grants | CBC NewsCanadian scholars who receive some of their funding from the U.S. government sources are flagging a troubling new questionnaire they have been receiving. It asks political and ideological questions about their research.

“Asked whether the government would consider a retaliatory tax on oil and gas exported to the U.S., Carney said, “We have many options. And we will use them judiciously.” “It’s a negotiation. You act when you act. You don’t pre-commit.”

one of many subtexts: Danielle Smith can rub elbows with #TheAmericanFascist and his little band of ogres all she wants, Carney will do what Canada needs to do to protect *all* Canadians.

The Conservatives are silly to just wave away DeJong, but if the BC election is any guide, disaffected Conservatives running as Independents don't get elected, and don't even have a huge impact on the vote split.

That said, #TheAmericanFascist was not threatening Canada during the BC Election. So who knows... but I would lean toward this being a non-factor in this Conservative/NDP swing riding.

Lucky me. Stayed up late watching silly TV and now I see this from #TheAmericanFascist.

“If the European Union works with Canada in order to do economic harm to the USA, large scale Tariffs, far larger than currently planned, will be placed on them both in order to protect the best friend that each of those two countries has ever had!”

Hey Mark, Jagmeet, Liz, Yves, and ya, Pierre:

I want to hear it from all of you. Canada should join the EU, or every step short of the final one if that’s what has to be, because we’re friends, and that guy, is not.
