Here's what's going to happen when our services are privatized. First, some services will just be gone. Public good services that aren't seen as profitable will be gone. That's things like Social Security. Why would a billionaire get involved with that? They'll just steal the existing funds and shut it down. Second, services that we already paid for with our taxes, which could be monetized, like NOAA, we'll still pay for but we'll pay lots more and we'll pay it monthly like a cable company. We'll end up with a whole list of new service "subscriptions" for everything from the weather to schools. And our taxes will NOT go down because we'll still be paying for billionaires and mega corps to pay NO taxes just like we do now, while the government continues to operate things like the DOD (which will itself be pared down, sold off in parts, and augmented with billionaire-owned privateers). This new country the billionaires want is a return to feudalism in which you will owe your liege lords all kinds of money every month while scrabbling to keep your families alive, with all the "services for the public good" gone.

Ideas that independent city-states run by corparations would be any different than medieval city-states constantly at war with each other.

Ideas which are a mismash of stoled academic lines from here & there, flaunted by monarchy-idealising nerds in brand-new leather jackets.

They’ll never work, but their ”inventors” are stupid enough to think they are new.

Trump’s 2024 campaign proposed something called 'freedom cities,' a lightly rebranded version of the Network State. Yet, most news outlets mentioned the idea without providing any real explanation of the concept.

Let’s be clear: These cities will be controlled entirely by tech billionaires and corporations, operating outside of U.S. laws. As this story comes into focus, there is no reason why anyone should accept the Orwellian term 'freedom city' to describe zones that will actually be devoid of the laws, rights, freedoms and protections of normal American law. The term is an overt political manipulation that should be rejected by media outlets going forward, as it serves only the interest of propaganda.

Fascist Cities would be more accurate, though I’m sure U.S. newsrooms can find a milder term . . . this push for legislation aligns fully with the Network State goal of creating 'startup nations' or 'charter cities' ruled by tech corporations. Trey Goff, chief of staff for Próspera – a Network State city in Honduras backed by Sam Altman, Marc Andreessen and Peter Thiel . . ."

I read two articles discussing his thinking on this yesterday. You should become familiar with this theory as it is shaping your & your progeny's futures through the efforts of extremist tech billionaires who frankly don't care if they grind you under the tank treads. You will be serfs in their new AI-controlled fiefdoms.

Text from article: I don’t see chaos when I examine Musk's actions. I see the realization of a radical ideology that a particular cadre of tech plutocrats have pushed for years. Not all of them call it the Network State, but many of them do. While some portray it as a path to decentralized governance, it's true goal is to concentrate power in the hands of tech billionaires and their systems. Just look at the news. While Robb appears to see Musk’s destruction as necessary, I find it virulently anti-democratic. Most Americans have never heard of the Network State. They certainly didn’t vote for it. Perhaps there's merit in having a public conversation about whether our nation is built to survive the 21st century. However, the idea of a foreign-born billionaire imposing a new form of governance without the consent of the American people seems immoral and risky.
