Tried taking #magnesium glycinate as a friend swears by it for sleep and stress.

Quickly found that it does not make me relaxed enough to be sleepy, so I still needed to take melatonin.

I did feel like it helped with my general stress level during the day.

However, it did also turn my usual vivid melatonin dreams into super vivid realistic stress dreams that have left me unsure if things really happened or if I dreamed them??

As a #longcovid caretaker, I have to share this non-proven but eye opening result (in our household anyways)

Her symptoms lessened one day. We finally figured that the night before she'd started taking epsom salt baths. (magnesium salt) for sore muscles and joints

After 3-4 weeks of the same moderate improvement, she tried a half dose #magnesium powder at night. From the next day on she has been in better shape than she has for more than the last year

I'm nagging her to start on a full dose..

Tried the vortex cooled combustion chamber design for the magnesium burner again. Disappointing results, as I couldn't get the thing to initiate a full burn.

I think what's happening is that because I'm igniting by dropping a lit coil down the axial exhaust, the flame has difficulty spreading outwards against the airflow. Possible remedies include changing the ignition location, or reaaaally throttling back the airflow until combustion is better established.

Leave it to #TikTok to come up with strategies on how to sleep better. I’m told the “sleepy girl mocktail” is the latest recommendation.

It’s a concoction of tart cherry juice, #magnesium powder and soda water, poured over ice. Cherries are a natural source of melatonin and also contains tryptophan, which combined with magnesium is purported to calm down your nervous system for better rest.
