Look, I know #LowerDecks is just emotional masturbation for hardcore trekkies, but it's too just what the doctor ordered for when I'm feeling down: light comedy, adventure, pop psychology, politics, and everything smothered in geek sauce, with zingers like "Hysperians renamed everything to sound like magic." (S2E7, "Where Pleasant Fountains Lie").

Following @theresmiling's example, I watched the first 2 eps of #StarTrek #LowerDecks last weekend, and even in its short run, that show changed.

They definitely didn't dial in the characters yet, and it didn't really betray the depth that these animations would get in the future.

While I enjoyed them, I can totally see why some would be turned off and calling it "Rick and Morty but Trek skinned" after seeing these.

As a lifelong #StarTrek fan it’s kinda sad to walk away from Paramount+ but they think it’s better to stick their noses up trump’s ass than treat their employees with respect and create a representative diverse opportunity for folks. #DEI is just their code word for Them and we all know it.

So long, I’ll miss seeing the new eps of #StrangeNewWorlds as they come out but I already buy the 4K disks
