This Is My Glasgow<p>Looking out across a misty Loch Lomond from Rowerdennan yeaterday afternoon. This is another of the wonderful locations you can reach within an hour of Glasgow, unless you're walking the West Highland Way. If you are, it'll probably take you a couple of days or so to get here. This Is My Glasgow<p>One of the great things about living in Glasgow is how close you are to some truly wild places, and with the promise of a rather wonderful sunny Spring day ahead, this morning I got up early and headed out of the city. It's a place that I truly love: The Old Man of Storr on the Trotternish Ridge is probably the most famous walk, and -maybe- the most beautiful attraction, on the Isle of Skye.
The Old Man (Bodach an Stòr in Gaelic), is a 55-metre-high pinnacle of basalt rock which is all that remains of a 2,800-million-year-old volcanic plug. Love it !
