The northern #Italian region known as #Trentino, or officially the Autonomous Province of #Trento, will pay residents of #Italy or Italians living abroad €100,000 to renovate one of the many abandoned houses in the region where the #Dolomites meet the #Alps.

The catch?

Anyone who signs up to the deal has to live there for 10 years or rent the property out for that length of time, or risk having to pay back the grant.

Dann muss diese Bärin eingefangen werden, weil sie eine Gefahr für Menschen darstellt.
Es kommt ja oft das Argument, dass der Mensch die Bären einfach "in Ruhe" lassen sollte. Dabei wird übersehen, dass das Trentino keine abgelegene Wildnis ist, sondern da über 500 000 Menschen leben, das sind 87 Personen pro km2.

Traveled by train (from Amsterdam) to the Italian Alps. Spending some time cross-country skiing in Trentino, close to Madonna di Campiglio, under the Brenta Dolomites.

There was an avalanche in the couloir in the middle of the picture yesterday. Three French ski mountaineers were injured, but survived and were rescued (according to newspapers).
