plactagonic<p>So it happened, I procrastinated so long with posting pictures that my phone died...</p><p>Nothing is lost, they are on SD card but my backup phone doesn't have a slot for it. Chris 👾<p>The popular outdoor route planner and navigation app <a href="https://mstdn.games/tags/komoot" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>komoot</span></a> has been aquired by the not very popular PE/technology firm Bending Spoons. If their acquisition history is any indication, this probably won't end well. Which is a shame, it's a great app for <a href="https://mstdn.games/tags/bikepacking" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>bikepacking</span></a> and <a href="https://mstdn.games/tags/hiking" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>hiking</span></a> </p><p><a href="https://www.dcrainmaker.com/2025/03/komoot-acquired-history-says-this-wont-end-well.html" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="ellipsis">dcrainmaker.com/2025/03/komoot</span><span class="invisible">-acquired-history-says-this-wont-end-well.html</span></a></p>
Robin Jayasinghe<p>Vielleicht einfach direkt verabschieden und <a href="https://chaos.social/tags/brouter" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>brouter</span></a> nutzen. Bei Komoot hab ich einmal in 2014 oder so das Welt-Paket für 20€ gekauft und seitdem nix für gezahlt. kc posch<p>As a bicyclist, I was handicapped for the last 600 km. My beloved helmet mirror broke in Vienna. But now I will be complete again. I even ordered a spare one. kc posch<p>I am glad that I could entertain some of you with my toots about my bike-train trip from Sweden to Austria and back.</p><p>All in all, I bicycled 700 km with the <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Brompton" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Brompton</span></a> this time. There were four days of all-day riding; the average distance for these days was 92 km. I carried 18 kg of gear in my two bags.</p><p>I am signing off for a month now; I plan to do another bike-train trip to Austria then in order to hunt for some Easter eggs. </p><p><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Brompton" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Brompton</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/BikeTooter" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>BikeTooter</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/BikePacking" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>BikePacking</span></a></p>
kc posch<p>I had a smooth train ride back to Stockholm. One strange thing, though: The long-distance train ride from Hamburg to Copenhagen starts with a ridiculous 30-minute commuter train ride from Hamburg Central Station to Pinneberg, a suburb station with heavy construction work and hoards of commuters in the morning. I found myself in the middle of busy morning commuters who looked with astonishment at my gear. Luckily, I had a good sleep, 3 coffees, and stayed calm.</p><p><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Brompton" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Brompton</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Bikepacking" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Bikepacking</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/BikeTooter" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>BikeTooter</span></a></p>
kc posch<p>Last day on my seven-days bicycle tour from Vienna in Austria to Bamberg in Germany. Again, like on all days before, mild and sunny spring weather with temperatures up to 18°C. I was really lucky this time. Several days I was riding in shorts and T-shirt. Now I am on my way back to Sweden with train.</p><p><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Brompton" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Brompton</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Bikepacking" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Bikepacking</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/BikeTooter" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>BikeTooter</span></a></p>
plactagonic<p>You know what they say about when you take something apart and put it together again that some bolts will remain unused, for me it was the through axel that didn't make it in to the box.</p><p>Also I decided to take a bus, trains here don't take assembled bikes and since I had to disassemble it I decided to took night bus to Bilbao (probably the closest direct route to French border still 150km of riding to it). </p><p>It took me only about an ½ hour to put it there, probably bit bigger box and I am less careful.</p><p><a href="https://f.cz/tags/BikeTooter" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>BikeTooter</span></a> <a href="https://f.cz/tags/bikepacking" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>bikepacking</span></a> <a href="https://f.cz/tags/biketouring" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>biketouring</span></a> <a href="https://f.cz/tags/europebybike" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>europebybike</span></a></p>
