Rediscovering, yet again, that throughout my teenage years in the 90s, I constantly said "I don't really like music" but what I didn't like was the absolute glut of male vocalists that dominated the 90s, and almost secretly hoarded music with femme vocals and listened to them over and over without telling anybody because i thought/believed/knew nobody liked girl singers or that i wasnt allowed to like them myself.

Another chance to see the "Lovefool" video clip as we play out. The Cardigans never put themselves forward for the SVT Melfest selection show, I believe.

And this looks to be the original 1996 video, loosely based on the RMS Titanic. Apparently the movie is grossly over-budget and won't be finished for summer release, so it'll flop terribly.

David "Kid" Jensen, Esq. is next! Wonder if we can spot a tenuous Eurovision connection into each of the Mystery Years?

"Lovefool" - The Cardigans

Reactivated after it's been used on the soundtrack of Baz Luhrmann's "William Shakespeare's Romeo + Juliet", the one with the fishtank. A very good date movie.

Two pictures, of Juliet Capulet (played by Claire Danes, a young white woman with a strand of brown hair falling over one eye) and Romeo Montague (played by Leonardo di Caprio, a young white man wearing armour and with piercing eyes). The two are looking through a fishtank, the scenes are framed by coral reefs and colourful angel fish.

"Lovefool" is a song written by #PeterSvensson and #NinaPersson for Swedish rock band #theCardigans' third studio album, #FirstBandOnTheMoon (1996). It was released as the album's #leadSingle on 10 August 1996 in Japan. In the United States, the song was serviced to radio two days later. A few months after its release, the track was included in the #BazLuhrmann film #RomeoAndJuliet, helping the song gain international recognition.
