A quotation from Montesquieu

If I knew something that would be useful to my nation and ruinous to another nation, I would not bring it before my prince, because I am a man before being a Frenchman, or again, because I am necessarily a man but am only a Frenchman by choice.

Clark (2012), #350]

The wealth divide is accelerating, and with it, the lack of accountability of the ruling class. Absolute power corrupts absolutely. Smash the corporate dictatorship and the power of its fascist enforcers.

"#Gaza suffering man-made mass #starvation, says #WHO chief"

What #Israel is doing to #Palestinians is #genocide

Plain and simple

Israel must stop

Food must flow into Gaza. Starving people must be able to acquire it peacefully

Anything else is an obscenity in the face of all #morality and #humanity

If Israel does not ensure people are fed, very clearly:

The world will not forget

There will be grave consequences in all international relations for this cruel sadism

If I receive any additional funds from compassionate folks, after this update - I will forward funds to marginalized folks who are still in need of financial assistance to survive. I never keep extra funds donated for myself. I have & will always use anything extra to try & help others in need. This is how I was taught by my parents & it is what I practice in life. When I'm doing well, I've always shared my bounties with others.
Me & my family know very well what pure desperation for survival feels like, because we've lived it.

I still remember my parents telling me, at age 7 ->
If you have a full bowl of rice & you see someone very hungry, you must give them at least 1/3 of your rice. You must never fill up your own belly, when you see others starving. You must feed them, from your own bowl. You can pray for your whole life but still be a selfish person. If you think that leaving starving people hungry, is OK. You must always share your bowl of rice, with people who are starving for one grain of nutrition.

A quotation from Moliere

CLÉANTE: Most men are strangely made; they always stray
   Out of the natural and proper way;
   Rejecting reason’s bounds as limitations,
   They range about amid their aberrations;
   Even the noblest things they often mar
   By forcing them and pushing them too far.

[Les hommes, la plupart, sont étrangement faits;
Dans la juste nature on ne les voit jamais:
La raison a pour eux des bornes trop petites,
En chaque caractère ils passent ses limites;
Et la plus noble chose, ils la gâtent souvent,
Pour la vouloir outrer et pousser trop avant.]

Molière (1622-1673) French playwright, actor [stage name for Jean-Baptiste Poquelin]
Tartuffe, or the Hypocrite [Le Tartuffe, ou L’Imposteur], Act 1, sc. 6 (1669) [tr. Frame (1967)]

Attention, attention! 😯

Here’s a new episode of the Redefining Society & Technology podcast!

"How to Hack Global Activism with Tech, Music, and Purpose

With Michael Sheldrick, Co-Founder of Global Citizen | Author of the #book: From Ideas to Impact."

Welcome back to my Musing on Society and Technology newsletter — where I drop new podcast episodes and explore what it means to be human in a hybrid analog-digital society.

This isn’t the place for hype or headline-chasing. It’s about asking better questions and figuring out how technology can serve humanity — not the other way around.

That said, I owe a quick apology to my guest Michael Sheldrick — we recorded this episode a while ago, but life, work, and about 437 browser tabs got in the way. Thank you for your patience, Michael. I hope this helps shine an even brighter spotlight on the incredible work you and the Global Citizen team are doing.

And yes — I’m honored to do the little I can to help promote it. Because this matters.

Global Citizen is proof that you can mix pop culture, #tech, and purpose to drive real change. $40 billion unlocked. A billion lives impacted. All through a movement powered by #music, #activism, and one simple idea:

"Anyone can make a difference — you just have to start."

Michael and I talk about:

The power of #socialmedia and gamified activism

Getting John Legend and Coldplay on board

Using tech tools like #Salesforce, #AI, and translation platforms

Why young people aren’t waiting — and politicians better pay attention

And yes, there’s a bonus chapter coming soon from his book — The #Innovator. You already know I invited him back for that.

💥 This episode is powered by our friends at BLACKCLOAK — protecting corporate executives and high-net-worth individuals from cyber threats. Thank you for supporting my storytelling mission.

And if you enjoy the show — follow the podcast, share it, or send it to someone who still thinks “digital” isn’t real life.

Thanks for tuning in.

End of transmission.
