Developing your own artistic style is hard. Creativity isn't an algorithm. It's years of personal struggle, emotion, and unique human experience. Data is the new oil, and we are witnessing the emergence of a new fossil fuel industry, that is extracting the joy from creators. A few years back, I wrote an article about the disregard for copyrights and the lack of recognition for artists, and while a person cannot take a screenshot of a movie they are watching, corporations can train and resell without compensation every bit on the internet. Despite everything, I hope we celebrate our trans #joy today.

If you're cis, educate yourself!! Don't be complacent. No TERFs. No deadnames. Be bold. Listen to trans, #non-binary and #gender-nonconforming folks. Be prepared to defend us.

While there is a long road ahead to liberation for all beings, #intersectional change is what is needed to bring it about. #Solidarity is how we win.

My friend @peteorrall said “experiencing joy is radical.” I’ve heard variations of that about happiness, laughter, and love.

They’re right. The oppressors want us sick and miserable.

Look to people who have been oppressed en masse. While they do have breaking points, they emerge because of their ability to love, laugh, and smile.

Be radical. Find joy. Find love. Find laughter.
