“It's no coincidence that the Trump Administration and his Republican surrogates drastically reduced funding for mental healthcare and removed barriers to ill people accessing firearms. This chaos is what it thrives upon, traffics in, and desires. In an environment populated by emotionally fragile and mentally unhealthy people, it's much easier to act without accountability..”

I don't think you think of Science Fiction often when thinking about Lars Von Trier. Yet, his 2011 masterpiece Melancholia is one of, if not the best, science fiction film(s) ever.

Ich freu mich auf Austausch.🤗

Feeling very blah, unmotivated, and uninspired today. Anything I try to pass the time doesn't last for any real length of time and nothing really sounds good to me

Basically just describing the symptoms talked about in 00s antidepressant medication ads.

The Big Sad besieged me so the only thing to do was to jump on my bike for three hours. Having lived with anxiety and depression for so long I know how to keep them on a tight leash, and just forcing my brain to process external input can do wonders, and it eventually turned into a pleasant day. So here are some flowers, buildnings, spring, some semi-forgotten railway tracks and a... moose. #landskrona #spring #anxiety #depression

So, I wrote this as the opening part of a short story, but I believe it may resonate with folks who have had to deal with depression.

"Everybody gets sad," they say, "but most people are never depressed."
True depression is not something you can understand if you haven't experienced it. It's not just an emotion; it's your whole body. There is a heaviness to the world around you. Ask a depression sufferer about the weight of being of being conscious, of breathing, walking, eating, going to the bathroom, of thinking about all of it. Ask them about the inertia. You've sat down, now try to get up. You've started walking, now try to turn back. You've started crying, now try to stop. Ask them about the isolation brought by the film that sits between them and the rest of the world, about the bubble they live in where color drains, sound dampens, touch never quite reaches. Ask them how their food tastes. Ask them what they dream about at night. Ask them the hardest question of all: "why are you depressed?"
"If I knew that, I wouldn't be depressed."

Was wiederum das Unwohlsein verstärkt. Undsoweiterundsofort.

Talmud (Sanhedrin 37a): “Whoever saves a single life is considered by scripture to have saved the whole world entire.

If you find yourself in that dark place please know you are loved and help is available. You deserve to feel better and you are NOT alone in that pain.
