I took a photo of some movie that was on TV about 10 years ago, seeing what looks like an Acorn computer of some sort on the desk, and this is what I got. I'm not really sure what's going on here and I'm equally unsure if I want to know.
Working in an Acorn RISC PC600 which Had battery damage.
Looking lime this without VRAM module ... so the error must be around the onboard VRAM or it's logic.
Any hints?
I don't subscribe to very many streaming services. Right now it's just Apple (Severance!!) and Acorn. There are a lot of great police murder mysteries on Acorn I really like. Currently watching the extensive library of Midsomer Murders with my husband. In addition I recently finished The Gone set in New Zealand, I really liked it (where is season 2??). Currently watching A Remarkable Place to Die set in Australia. I'd love recommendations for other good shows on Acorn. #Acorn #TV #Mysteries
Desperately seeking suggestions for the best Solitaire or Mahjongg games on all retro systems. Preferably with screenshots.
Anyone have any leads on a retailer of acorn flour in Canada? Like, we have so many oak trees, and I know it was a traditional ingredient for people here. It seems kinda bonkers that the only non-American retailer that I can find is Turkish.

Extending one's retro computer collection is not planable at all as some rare hardware only turns up for sale once or twice a year. I was lucky to get my hands on my first Acorn machine - an extended A3000 - and spent some time learning about it as it is so different to all my other stuff. I started off my exploration by removing battery and acid and tried to get a picture out of it - that worked after several attempts. But I have it more or less running by now I guess!
I am delighted to announce that the 2nd of four #risc_os AI Assistants, designed for beginners and those wanting to enjoy playing with AI and BBC BASIC, is now available to everyone!
More details on how to access it for free in the link below:
This is from 2014, still makes me miss summer every time I look at it.
Did some quick mock ups so that I can figure out if the initial design wraps weird, so I can edit it before continuing~
First card freed from battery-leak damage. This Podule backplane had some very corroded contacts, but they are nice any shiny again.
Home computers Oric Nova 64, Schneider CPC and Orao – less widespread and known, but each with a fascinating story behind it!
Some new tattoo flash designs! Acorn time!!
Bookings open for flash or custom tattoos via form, email, or DM!
Here it is: BBC Landmarks Second World War, by Longman Logotron. Unpreserved, as far as I can tell, and not listed in any Archimedes software databases - though it does have an associated ISBN which comes up in book catalogues.
Also pictured: Numero 62 (complete), likewise unpreserved, and Archimedes Magpie (disk only).
Once I've got a bit of free time over Christmas, I'll get the disks imaged and the manuals scanned.
Remember that #Acorn #Archimedes game I was trying to hunt down a while back?

I (and others) searched *everywhere* - the Archimedes Archive, fan pages, every issue of Acorn User and similar that the Internet Archive has available, even PD library listings. Came up blank.
Well, my father-in-law has come up trumps... not only finding the name of the game *but the game itself*. Including documentation and the shipping packaging.
