That was just about the worst vice presidential trip abroad ever.
In Greenland PM Mette Frederiksen of Denmark asked: “But when you [the USA] demand to take over a part of the Kingdom’s territory — when we are subjected to pressure and threats — what are we to think of the country we have admired for so many years?”
Excellent question. Not because Europeans want to know Mr #Trump's or Mr #Vance's opinion.
It is excellent because it highlights the fact that unless Americans in opposition answer it fast, Europeans are going to draw their own conclusions.
Bonkers long thread so I hope you will stay with me and engage. I'd like to take stock of what is probably the most unnecessary potential for conflict since the #FalklandsWar. I'm talking about the attempt by the Trump administration to annex Greenland.
