Just got back the generator I loaned out to an old Scouting friend, due to two weeks of PSPS shutdowns in the neighborhood. They're going to go try to put together their own battery system, so don't have any interesting in buying it or keeping it.

(Loud enough to wake the dead and attract zombies)

HEY SCE... THIS IS BECAUSE OUR POWER WAS SHUT OFF DUE TO YOUR PSPS SHUTDOWNS FOR SEVERAL DAYS TWO WEEKS IN A ROW AND I COULDN'T GET INTO YOUR BILLING SYSTEM BECAUSE YOU ONLY SEND EMAILS AND EMAIL AND INTERNET IS DAMN IMPOSSIBLE IN A BLACKOUT.

Love letter from SCE (Southern California Edison)

Unsurprised by this, this is why there is a LiFePo4 battery charging in front of my house right now, LOL.

(Power outages, fortunately, can be managed, better than fires... which are not so easy in wind, as we have all seen).

More high winds and possible Southern California Edison (SCE) outages are coming. The US National Weather Service Los Angeles/Oxnard has posted a fire weather watch through Thursday at 10 pm. Also, a red flag warning is in effect through Tuesday at 10 pm.

SCE has advised that around 28,000 Thousand Oaks customers could see power outages due to PSPS events. SCE says the outage window is between 6 am Monday and 3 pm Wednesday. Affected circuits are shown in the blue areas of the second map. (1/3)

SCE tentatively has committed to reopening a Customer Service Center in the lobby of the Best Western Plus Thousand Oaks Inn 8 am-10 pm Monday-Friday with staff and chargers available. The address is 75 W. Thousand Oaks Blvd. Edison has more information about PSPS events at sce.com/psps.

Depending on the length of the outages, some city traffic lights could go dark after exhausting their battery backups. Treat any intersection with a non-functioning traffic light as an all-way stop. (2/3)
