it's hilarious to go down the rabbit hole of researching "PKM" apps because every blog post is just someone definitively stating why they moved all their notes to X app and then 3 weeks later why they moved back to Y app.
thanks, I'll just stick with my markdown files.

During the International Conference, “New Cybernetics” (15th, 16th May), at the University of Applied Sciences Düsseldorf, I shall be demonstrating my work on #qiuy - the recursive-modelling-language Ive been developing for over a decade.

Usually I focus on presenting at FOSS orientated events such as (Fosdem), often limiting expository length and focus. Im looking forward to the extended time to explain concepts, as pertinent non coding aspects.

If you're using #Microsoft #OneNote, you will face disadvantages when you don't switch to #Windows11 soon:

You are forced to "One Note on Windows" which requires a #Microsoft365 account. If you want to keep your previous computer/OS, your synchronization speed gets reduced just to punish your disobedience: windowslatest.com/2025/03/24/m

For anything that requires a certain amount of privacy/security, for anything long-term (avoiding #lockin effects), OneNote was a bad idea in the first place.

People who started with the original OneNote already faced data loss when MS forced them into the then mediocre cloud version in 2018: karl-voit.at/2018/04/21/end-of

My recommendation: re-evaluate your requirements and switch to a much better long-term alternative, such as #Emacs #Orgmode & not yet another hip lock-in monster like #Obsidian, #Evernote or other closed source #cloud solutions: karl-voit.at/2021/01/18/tool-c

Windows Latest · Microsoft will intentionally slow OneNote for Windows 10, so you ditch it fasterMicrosoft has confirmed that it's killing off "OneNote for Windows 10," but it also plans to force the legacy app's sync to run slower.

One benefit of Obsidian text files is that it's easy to use Python with them - especially with the help pf ChatGPT or Gemini. I've been able to use Python to turn a CSV file into 300 properly formatted Obsidian notes. Have you done anything cool with Pyton and Obsidian? #Obsidian #ObsidianMD #PKM

Q. What's better: digital or analog? This system or that method?

A. Yes

This week I present three tiny PKM-themed principles to follow when the thing you admire, that thing other people are successfully using or doing, isn’t working for you.

I'm running the Catalyst release of Obsidian mobile. It feels like that after a long period of stability, it is once again barely functional for me. It quits and restarts multiple times and syncing is extrordinarily slow. I'm on an iPhone Pro Max 15 with almost no plugins. #Obsidian #ObsidianMD #PKM

In anticipation of my apprenticeship/course in software development, I'm looking at note taking apps again. Used Obsidian heavily, but I think it's become too bloated. I liked and wanted to use Emacs, but it's so complicated, it's too much work (to have it sync etc). NotesNook looks good, but when I import my notes, none of the images show. Logseq do Orgmode now, so that's a strong possibility...
Anything else I should look at?
