The Metropolitan Methodist Church was founded in Victoria in 1859. Following the establishment of the United Church in 1926, the church became the Metropolitan United Church.

We all had a fun time, doing some therapeutic air dry clay hand sculpting this evening.

This is one of my fave old #church buildings in downtown Victoria. I've done some past nonprofit work to help marginalized youth through Threshold Housing Society. They ran free services to help get more social housing & independent living supports for vulnerable youths, especially those who were aging out of state care. Several different nonprofits still run multiple programs out of this church space.

It's the First Metropolitan United Church on Quadra at North Park.

I LOVED the small, #iridescent #tiles used to create a #mosaic #art piece on side of a building. Beautiful tiles!

I'm making it my personal mission to stock up this empty community free pantry for every week in September & at least twice a month, until Winter storms prevent me from being able to get to location safely. This area has some of the poorest people in our local community. I'm going to recruit a few #humanitarian friends to help me keep this community box stocked up. I was upset to see it completely empty today.
