Because we are failing our youth. We are not giving people a sense of belonging in schools, churches, and communities. We are not strengthening our broken families by building strong unions and creating a #BasicIncome safety net along with #MedicareForAll. If we don't give everybody a place where they belong, the gangs, drug dealers, and criminals will do it for us, enabled by the NRA. benitolink.com/bl-special-repo

The #ACA / #Obamacare is a popular but not overwhelmingly popular system (60% popularity). It left a lot of the problems with the #private, #forprofit #US #medical system intact and is vulnerable to #farright attacks.

Only 8% of #Democrats oppose #MedicareForAll, yet no Dem politicians pursue it. Ask why.

Reminder: This was the #RonaldReagan #Healthcare Plan made by the #Heritage Foundation who would then make #Project2025!

Despite all that, I have no idea which plan to choose. Last year's plan left us with surprise out of pocket expenses, even though I had carefully reviewed all of the plan's details.

This was an expensive HMO plan (anything other than a managed care plan is way out of reach) that should have been fine.

It wasn't.

If I can't sort through this w/all the knowledge & privilege I have, then who can?

Health ins in the U.S is a cluster fuck.

We need #singlePayor or #MedicareForAll

“Any Democrat condemning Green’s protest or voting to censure him should know no peace. Their constituents should be ceaselessly demanding to know what they are doing to protect health care for the poor, working class, disabled, and elderly — and why their elected officials thought it was a good use of their time to condemn their colleague who was standing up for exactly such policies.”

jacobin.comThe Democratic Opposition Should Look More Like Rep. Al GreenIn interrupting Donald Trump’s speech to Congress, Rep. Al Green showed more vigor in opposing the president’s undemocratic, anti-worker agenda than any other act since Inauguration Day. Democrats should emulate Green, not censure him.
