I started using Linux back in January or February 2020, and my first distro was Elementary OS 5.1. It felt like the right choice from the start.

Since then, I've tried a bunch of other distros like Arch, Fedora, Alpine, Linux Mint, Manjaro, and Paldo. But in the end, I fell in love with Debian stable.

Arch and Fedora didn't really sit with me, but I might give Arch another shot someday. Out of all the ones I tried, my top picks are Debian, Elementary, Mint, Alpine, and Paldo.

Today, I run Elementary alongside Debian on my laptop, and Debian on both my desktops. I love what Elementary does, but for me, Debian is number one, and Elementary is a close second.

Yayy! My first paper circuit kit is now available at:
shop.blinkyparts.com/de/Playfu

This kit contains three of my favorite paper circuit projects: The Spin Art Robot, the Pixel Art Cube and the RGB Touch Cube. This is a perfect kit for kids and parents (age 8+).

Be sure to check it out! @marove only has a first batch of 20 kits!

Anyone can tell me a little app for turning my #debian into a Chromecast receiver for streaming music from my Android to #linux via WiFi?

To do exactly the same from an iphone there's uxplay which works really well.

I want to avoid solutions like Plex/Kodi because they are such a pain to configure and they never work for me

Endlich geschafft: Linux Mint installiert.

@Eliot_L I made the switch to #Ubuntu at the start of the year and so far it's been pretty great. It does seem that the best/most popular "I just want to get off Windows" distribution is #Mint, however. My recommendation: inventory all your required apps and research how it will go:

1) Native Linux support (Calibre, VLC, Steam)
2) Works under emulation (Scrivener, MediaMonkey, I recommend checking out Lutris)
3) Linux native alternative (LibreOffice, Pinta)
4) VM/Dual-boot required (FileMaker)
