#Russia openly boasting about a ballistic rocket hit on 5th hospital in #Kramatorsk which was specifically targeted as a hospital facility. Russians enumerate 20 wounded soldiers killed in the attack, two medical evacuation vehicles and a number of medical equipment destroyed as their achievement. Attack against a hospital, regardless of whether civilian or military, is a war crime according to international humanitarian law.

In the same message Russians also blame Ukrainian electronic warfare for destroying a “car wash facility” next to the hospital and also, more importantly, blame Ukrainian anti-air rocket for “ruining a civilian residential house”. Anti-air rockets however have a small warhead that can possibly cause damage to a building, but cannot destroy it completely, which is what Russians are claiming. This way they most likely are trying to cover the impact of their own ballistic rocket which comes with a warhead fully capable of destroying a house.

#Pokrovsk, a town with a pre-war population of 60,000, is situated west of #Avdiivka at a crucial crossroads of multiple railroad lines. It has become a key delivery and railroad distribution hub, facilitating the supply of Ukrainian forces across a broad frontline, from #Vuhledar to the north of #Donetsk and beyond.

Currently, only two places in the #Donbas serve this vital function – Pokrovsk and #Kramatorsk.

Ryan Evans, a member of the Reuters team covering the war in #Ukraine, was killed and two Reuters journalists were injured in a strike on a hotel in the eastern Ukrainian city of #Kramatorsk, the news agency said on Sunday.

Evans, who was working as a safety adviser for the agency, was killed after a missile struck the Hotel #Sapphire where he was staying as part of a six-person team on Saturday, Reuters said in a statement.
