At last, spring is here and so is my first macro shot of the year 
I've tried a new lens configuration (100mm macro + Raynox DCR250) but I'm not convinced, the depth of field is way too shallow.
Also tried a new 7W ring light, pretty happy with it (need a new USB powerbank, though).

A "white-margined burrower bug" nymph (Sehirus cinctus) on boxwood (Buxus sempervirens). There were bunches of these huddled together among the leaves. From a distance, I thought they were ladybugs. Handsome creatures!

Very common, but not often photographed: Sigara lateralis, a member of the water boatman family.
They can be found in all types of water.
A pioneer species, Sigara lateralis likes to colonise newly formed water bodies, such as the puddle of rainwater where this one lives.
Nymphs and an adult Passionvine Bug (Leptoglossus gonagra) spotted at Ulu Sembawang Park Connector, Singapore on 25 Aug 2024. Saw several adults while walking about.

At least I saw a lot of cool bugs. Here are 4 orders of insects:

- Lepidoptera (butterflies and moths)
- Hemiptera (true bugs)
- Hymenoptera (ants, wasps, bees, sawflies)
iNat is being a butt right now so can't narrow it down much.
