Stupid Things People Say

When our adopted child began to experience delusions as a symptom of a serious mental illness, one of our neighbors told my wife that her pastor said such children had devil worshippers as parents. Months later, a member of a private Facebook group for parents of children with serious mental illnesses suggested as a behavioral intervention that I read to our child from the Left Behind book series. Twice, strangers offered to call the police when my wife was out shopping with our upset child. Please don't be like these people. Does anyone have similar experiences?
