This is Rockwell falls on a foggy morning in Lake Luzerne NY. This isn't the easiest waterfall to get a photo of. It's on a bridge that gets a lot of traffic and it shakes as every car goes by so I opted to go early in the morning so there wasn't a whole lot of traffic. I would say waking up early and having a little patience paid off here. This was way back in 2010.

I don't know what it is but I just love the look of these old school binoculars. You'll see these throughout Letchworth State Park at all the overlooks. This was taken last October on a beautiful fall day.

This is one of endless views along the Blue ridge parkway. The parkway is 469 miles and connects Virginia's Shenandoah national Park to Tennessee's/North Carolinas great Smoky mountains national Park. This was back in 2019 and I would like to get there as there is so much to see along that highway.

This is Wells falls in Ithaca NY. It sits next to an abandoned building which in the 1800's was originally a for mill, then turned to a pumping station which provided drinking water and water for stations. It was then converted to a hydro electric plant, then finally abandoned in the 1940's. It's definitely a unique setting that adds the scene here in a good way.

A view on the way up to the summit of Whiteface Mountain in the Adirondacks. That big cloud to the left of the photo was the start of the cloud that would end up shrouding the rest of the mountain in a fog, taking away the view the rest of the way up.

One last set of photos from my trip to Letchworth last week. Here's a couple shots from the middle falls area. I particularly love all the ice formations formed by the middle falls mist. Overall it was a good day there, though I do wish that most of the park wasn't closed off.

The 'ice volcano' at the Glen Iris inn in Letchworth State Park. This amazing ice structure is caused by a gravity-fed garden fountain built without pumps or motors in 1860. When the temperatures drop, the fountain's water freezes in midair, forming a cone of ice. These were taken on my trip there last Friday. It looks so different at every angle so I figured I had to post more than one photo of this phenomena. Make sure to scroll through the all the photos!

Little mountain, big view. This is a view from the summit of Mount Van Hoevenberg in the high peaks region of the Adirondacks. I just started exploring this region a bit last summer so I haven't climbed any high peaks yet. Honestly though the two mountains I went up, I loved the views of the surrounding high peaks. Hopefully I can do one or two this coming summer or fall.
