First flowers out on the Grevillea 'Cupid's Dream' - popular with the local grass-darts. With classic hybrids like 'Pink Surprise' and 'Misty Pink' difficult to find in nurseries these days 'Cupid's Dream' could become an excellent alternative with sprays of pink flowers and deeply divided blue/green foliage.

Hi everyone, STILL working on new art. I will be posting less frequently for just a bit, as I finish up and add to my online shop on REDBUBBLE. Thank you for all of your continued likes, follows and comments, and your patience! It is greatly appreciated. :-) :-)

into the garden - summers end
This is the third in a series of paintings that illuminate the transformative beauty of the natural world. To visually express how total immersion into the deep colors of gardens and wild spaces can create a profound sense of peace; restore wonder; and generate calm in an increasingly chaotic world.

Good morning. 🍂🌿🍃

3 April 2025

I have a framed picture above my desk, a simple print in a cheap frame that was given to me by my former employer. I've been thinking about replacing it with one of my own photographs—some of which I’ve had printed and framed by Pixels. Over the years, I’ve accumulated a collection of old framed items and mementos, mostly from my Army days. I’m not sure what to do with them. I can’t bring myself to throw them away, but I don’t have anywhere to display them, and even if I did, who would see them? They once adorned the "I Love Me" wall in my office. Now, they’ve become one of those dilemmas you tuck away in a box, promising to deal with later. What do you do with these kinds of keepsakes when you’re ready to move on from them?

"Sometimes I would see them not as mementos of the blissful hours but as the tangible precious debris of the storm raging in my soul." - Orhan Pamuk

Good morning tooters. A lovely cool night last night. It’s around 18c right now & we’re heading to just 24c and an absolutely beautiful day.
I changed my sheets yesterday & put the electric blanket back on, not that it’s plugged in yet, but it has a removable fleece top on it & it’s a little extra comfort & warmth as it cools down. So I was very snug sleeping last night. Nighttime temps are dropping below 10c this week 😃, so the light blanket might be coming off & the medium quilt going on. Love this time in the change of seasons.
I’m meeting my daughter & grandson for a walk in the gardens after school drop of this morning, we haven’t been able to do that for a few weeks now so I’m looking forward to it. I’d like to take her on one of my river walks but it would be a bit much for master 3’s little legs 😁. I will be mowing my lawns this afternoon. I’d prefer to have a swim, but the lawns really need doing, so swimming tomorrow instead.
Hope everyone has a great start to the new week this #Monday - take care out there 🌻.
