Maybe it’s me but iOS 18 absolutely sucks for me on my 16pro. I’ve had nothing but problems dealing with #AppleIntelligence so I turned it off early on. Siri seems to have been nerfed, my alarms self set to max volume, songs randomly play from the speaker, and on top of that, I still don’t get to use all the functionality of my smart watch because it’s not made by a fruit company. Over the the last six-ish months i have gone from Apple fan, to Apple user, now to legit Apple hater. Frustrating.

With all the Apple Intelligence talk, I'm surprised there is no Semantic Search in Spotlight on macOS. The hardware is probably very capable of it, and as far as I know, FTS is already working on documents like PDFs. So adding vector indices would be quite possible.

Is Apple understaffed? Hard to say from outside. Things like Apple Music or the iTunes Store are unmaintained for years. Some Apps like Mail.app are the same every year with minor changes and no bugfixes.

At least the Macrodata Refinement Team is not understaffed. I saw it on television! (It's probably even true since more people work on that show than on these apps)

The only #AppleIntelligence feature I find genuinely useful is the categorisation of emails. But Google has had that for year, and it doesn’t require extensive machine learning models. #Apple

Welp, #appleintelligence in the new #iPhone #iOS update has completely bollixed the dictation and #Siri on the phone. The #AI is completely mistaking commands for queries, even offering #ChatGPT to figure out what I am saying. #Apple needs to realize that if non-technical people get a bad impression of their system, they will turn it off and never turned it on again. Why I keep on turning it on, I don't know. In any case, I am turning it off, again.
