Hey Elon, how about reviving Archibald Watt's Sky Carriage as mode of luxury transportation? It's just as viable as your Hyperloop idea, and you get to travel in real style, too! Of course, there are still a few wrinkles which need ironed out, but how cool would it be to be able to travel by giant catapult?
This plaque tells the unusual and little known story of the industrialist Sir Tristan Farquhar and how he met his unexpected end while trying to prove that Kelpies don't exist. It can be found the west bank of the River Kelvin in Glasgow, on the bend just north of Kirklee Bridge.
If you've ever wondered why Glasgow no longer had a cream bun and yun yum district, and why it has a bye-law banning the provision of alcohol to elephants, this helpful plaque by the Maryhill Locks on the Forth and Clyde Canal explains the (completely untrue) story behind it! 
This is my favourite Glasgow plaque. I've featured it before and I'll make no apologies for featuring it again. It can be found in the ruins of the North Woodside Flint Mill on the Banks of the River Kelvin in the West End of the city. Like other such plaques in Glasgow (and there's a surprisingly large number of them), it's not known who created it.
