Did not expect to be obsessed with this app when I started checking out #elementaryOS but here I am.
Kudos to the wierdos whom include GDscript and ActionScript as recognized languages by default. My peoples.
Gonna find out how portable it is and kick its tires.

Yeah, I know it's a lot. But that's the beauty of an autistic brain I guess, we go deep on what fascinates us.
I'm not loving Elementary OS so far... I think it looks nice. I mean, it looks like a low-resolution/low-budget version of macOS but when I try to do something like format a disk I can find no easy built-in way to do it, nothing in the App marketplace, and no flatpack thing...
I ended up installing GParted via the command line, which I'd think many people would not know to do.
I'll keep trying it out but I much prefer Mint so far.
I was able to install an SSD into the Dell Latitude E6430 (which only took a few minutes) and I'll attempt to install Elementary OS.
The install kept failing with the old hard drive from 2013 so maybe this SSD will do the trick!

1.some sort of an apple tags like variant for the open source world ( best is file manager from #elementaryos at this point but it only support tagging 8 colours no #
(Nice to look at automation like the Mac #hazel or Mac #defaultfolderx)
2.and #preview replacement ( pdf and other files reader with most of the pro features and some sort of working #ocr ( possibly a gui of #tesseract ? ) for #Linux and #android preferably (best I found was #pdfsambasic)
I've been using #elementaryos for the last month or so in an effort to get good with a distro I could realistically recommend to people coming from the Mac, and in general it's going well.
But when I read a thread like this, it makes me crazy, and I kinda just want to give-up altogether.
Upgraded my System76 Pangolin from #ElementaryOS 7 to 8. This is a PITA because there's no "automatic" upgrade path, it's a "backup and re-install" situation.
That said, I rsync'd my home directory over to another machine (hidden files and all), then rsync'd the whole thing back after erasing and re-installing the new OS version (importantly I did the restore before opening any applications, etc.) and things kinda "just worked". The mail app opened with all my accounts setup & working and even some of the applications I'd installed were functional.
I did have to re-install a couple applications, and there was one flatpak application (orca slicer) that gave me a little trouble but most everything remembered it's settings and such and overall I was really impressed.
I think it would be possible to include a small application in Elementary to automate this the next time it's time for a major version upgrade. Maybe I'll work on that as my first contribution to the project... 
Spent two hours setting up a new iMac for one of my client's that I had previously set up on a nice little Lenovo Mini Think center machine with Linux Elementary OS that she paid $300 for. Seems she didn't like Linux. Set up my client's email, transferred files and set her up only to be told, in a surprised tone, hey this looks just like Linux. So she could have saved herself that $2000 had she given Linux a bit more time and patience. #linux #ilovelinux #elementaryos #foss #freesoftware #
