remember when I asked for a replacement for #disqus and then ranted about how none of the available solutions would also integrate with #mastodon?

Well shit. I did it again and scratched my own itch and barfed out another open source project.

Introducing: Meh..

* single install serves as many sites as you want
* can be used in static websites (it's lightweight web components in the frontend)
* imports Disqus
* fetches Mastodon replies as comments
* supports different languages (so far en, fr, es, de)
* probably has bugs

Just logged into #Disqus account for the first time in seven years. Interesting to see old comments I had made on articles and blog posts. I'd say about 3/4 of them are sites that no longer use Disqus. So when I look back at the comments in the context of the pages, those comment threads have just been disappeared from the page entirely.

A lot of them are news media sites that have just abandoned comments sections entirely.

Peak #Internet: Someone on #Disqus with the profile user name "Customer Service," replying to complainers on Down Detector site telling them that their service with whatever ISP will be canceled at the end of the billing cycle and thanking them for their patronage. 😆
