Excited to see the native eastern North American pawpaw blooming. Asimina triloba has a beautiful flower pollinated by flies. Smells yeasty. Paw paw trees are typically understory trees in mesic and riparian habitats. They prefer to be near rivers or streams. The fruit matures in middle to late September.
