A Snowy Egret against calm blue water with hints of pink in the small ripples. The bird is a small-medium wader with long legs, neck and bill, although in this case the neck is curled. It has a yellow patch between bill and yellow-ringed eyes. Walking in water so you can't see the yellow feet or backs of legs, walking to left of frame - some grasses and a mud bank in the near foreground.

A Great Blue Heron, a large water bird with long legs, neck and yellow bill. It is standing in water 3/4 of the way up its legs Mud banks at top left and middle right in the picture, as the bird stands in an 's' shaped creek. The bird is grey with a pink-grey neck at the sides, a darker blue patch at the shoulder and a similar colour patch over the eye to the back of the head. The left eye has a yellow ring round the black pupil, then white under the eye and bill. Plumes hang from the neck. It is looking slightly to the left of the camera and showing the front of its neck, which has a light band crossed with darker diagonals, looking like a zipper or herringbone pattern to me.

A view looking down a creek into the San Francisco Bay - Richmond is across from this part. A winding creek goes from bottom left, over the right then back to the left to meet the bay. Trees and bushes on the right hand side. A Snowy Egret on the left in the water, then a Great Blue Heron. On the left mud bank a Long-billed Curlew digs in the mud, and I think a Spotted Sandpiper and Least Sandpipers are there too. The Stilts were out of frame on the right. Mallards swimming in the creek. Puffy clouds in the sky beginning to catch the evening pink.

A male Snowy Egret following a female. The female just taken off headed to the left of frame, the male strutting his stuff on a mud bank with head feathers raised up and wings spread wide. Reflections of both in the creek. Small-medium all white birds with long necks, legs and bills. Yellow patches around the eye, and yellow feet and backs of legs.

One the mud back in the middle distance are a pair of Black-necked Stilts, then beyond them in another arm of the creek is a Snowy Egret. A Willet in bredding plumage, which has more darker markingsd than the usually beige bird. It is a small-medium sized wader with long legs and bill, standing in shallow water by a muddy bank, after digging around for food.

A Black Turnstone in breeding plumage. A small wader that is usually just dark on top and lighter underneath, gets lighter markings around the face, bot cheeks and a line above the eye. Here it is picking at the barnacles on the seaweed covered rocks at low tide.

A male Mallard, preening, and standing in shallow water. The duck has its head turned round to its left so its brown neck is to the left of the frame. Lighter underparts and orange leg and foot visible. Its head is iridescnet green, with a white ring seperating it from the brown neck. Dark rear end.
