thinking The Prodigy will do a tribute to Keith and we will all cry.
Remembering Keith Flint from The Prodigy
(September 17, 1969-March 4, 2019)
In our business, there are no prizes for being kind, but if there was, that Grammy would be yours.”
In a world full of gobshites, be more Keith Flint.
#Music #TheProdigy (3/3)
Worth noting, this was at a heightened time of homophobia, and George Michael was up against The Prodigy’s “Firestarter”- the video where Keith Flint probably earned the reputation as a scary, violent and edgy looking dude. Evidently, he was the complete opposite. It’s cliche, but true: never judge by first appearances.
Not to mention Keith Flint being the absolute epitome of Scariest Looking Bastard= Nicest person you could ever meet. George Michael said it best: when he won a music award up against The Prodigy, afterwards he saw Keith Flint coming charging up to him after the winner was announced- he expected a fight. Instead, Keith flung his arms around him and told him of how he was so proud of him and how he deserved to win that award.
Can we please talk about how The Prodigy’s “Invaders Must Die” album is up there with one of their all time greats? Absolute bangers
There's a few songs here that I will admit to thinking "Oh yeah, so 90s, what were we thinking?!"
And then there's The Prodigy where I am like "This is good."
And also "Yes I know about that controversial song. The Prodigy is still very good. The Fat Of The Land is a monumental album."
Listening to "The Prodigy Experience" during work today, and it's amazing how well that album aged for an electronic music album from 1992.
"Breathe" - The Prodigy
They had the world at their feet this autumn.
In retrospect, I reckon they should have released album "The Fat of the Land" in the opening weeks of 1997. By the time it came out in July, we'd moved on.
More Top of the Pops in a moment.
