Since we're getting close to wrapping up the current Wednesday game, I'm trying to think about what I want to play next. I've always loved the idea of Shadowrun, but I can't find an edition that plays well and is easy to get set up.

Is there a similar game that does work well?

boost for broader exposure, if you please. 😊

Just finished the game Shadowrun Returns (2013). It's the perfect blend for me: interactive novel first, party-based tactical-ish CRPG second. I like that the game system is simple and the skill tree is not an overwhelming monstrosity. Loved the setting, environments, mood, music, the writing and the twisty story itself. The ending managed to leave me emotional for a while, like a good book.

On to the next #Shadowrun #game: Dragonfall.

@nachdemsturm hypothesis: #Shadowrun seems to exist only in a field of tension between „Promise“ and „total disappointment“.

Promise: yeah - this is gonna be such an exciting heist in a dark and cyberpunky urban-fantasy setting!

Total disappointment: there are 100 d6 on the table, it feels like we are playing in slow motion, and our group has been betrayed AGAIN by the ones who send us on this mission.

Either in early April or late May (found both dates) there will be a new #TTRPG #Shadowrun book: Deadly Arts, an advanced combat book.

I wrote a small chapter (about half a page) and a longer chapter (3 to 4 pages?). Don't know if I can spoil the content yet.

Might be my last contribution to Shadowrun in the foreseeable future, for various reasons.
