Spent all evening painting bits of youngest's Cerastus Knight Lancer people are unlikely to ever see. Behold, the cockpit.

Mini painters will understand. Sure, I could have just dry brushed everything and thrown a wash on, but I'D KNOW. Which is why even his arse which is glued in was washed, highlighted, and panel lined. Because I'D KNOW.

Self-critiquing I’m pretty happy with how this guy came out.

The brown wash for the sleeve details came out pretty good as did the pants stripes. And I printed this on practically no time by my standards!

I should really finish the game he’s from some day. Might be fun if I ever get a chance to play #7tv.

The Lancer is built, or at least all the sub-assemblies and parts are ready for undercoating. I'll get that done this week, start on the bits I'm doing (like the pilot), and airbrush the shoulders and leg armour. The rest is going to be up to youngest, who has never painted before. So lots of guidance.

A green, self-healing cutting mat sat on a desk with various modelling tools around it, such as tweezers and ultra-thin plastic adhesive. Various parts from a large mech model are sat on the mat, such as huge shoulder pauldrons and some banners/flags that hang from chains. They are all unpainted.
The main body of a model of a Cerastus Knight Lancer by Games Workshop. Its torso and carapace are sat on its legs, and it stands on a wooden desk next to a tea mug, some pots of paint water (mmmm, tasty paint water!), and a green cutting mat and tools. It is unpainted, ready for undercoating.

Here goes the third batch of my genestealers from the 2014 Space Hulk box. I almost gave up painting those three dude, having a forced stop in the hobby. Thankfully, i past over it and slowly try to retake an habbit to paint. One brushstoke at a time.

Someone once asked why i had painted them with such a colorful scheme instead of the usual white-ish and purple one in the box.

Well. First of all, i don't really like the classic colour scheme, the one from the Leviathan Hive. And by lore, space hulks are very very old space shipwrecks that xenos try to infest to go somewhere else, off the radar and without effort, letting warp-breach and drift do their thing. So for tyranids of a recent invasion, i feel it odd.

Second, i do really like the colour scheme of the Behemoth fleet, the very first tyranid invasion with red skin and dark-blue chitin. It also makes more sense for them to infest a space-hulk rather than Leviathan offspring, since they where here more or less 250 years before. A lot more time and opportunity to sneak into a wreck.

Finally, i did a kind of pinkish purple skin rather than a red one for aesthetic reasons. Blood angels are full red already so it would have been a bit redundant. And i don't really like to paint red much.

Why did i start painting those damn marines...

Tables for games 12-14 of Trench Crusade weekend. Extra games because we have seven players and needed to add a bye each round. This is the home stretch. I don't think we are getting three more rounds in tonight, but damn we got close.

Table C is set up for "Fields of Glory" which has very sparse terrain and a list of random environmental happenings throughout the game.
