Hi #Fedora,
What makes you use Fedora?
How do you like it?
How's it going?
How's gaming on Fedora?
What hardware do you run it on?
I'm curious because I use Debian myself, and I'd love to hear from Fedora users about their day-to-day experiences.
Reasons why I'm a #fedoralinux addict
- First class Flatpak, podman and toolbox/distrobox support keeping my base system clean
- Secure boot/Kernel Lockdown preconfigured so I can get HSI 2 with minimal effort, just add intel_iommu=on
kernel parameter (at least on an Intel Comet Lake system)
- akmods never fails to amaze me, with both working kernel modules and secure boot signing in case I need to use an NVIDIA hardware such as my gaming laptop
- SELinux ready to use with strict defaults
- Firewalld is already there waiting for me to play with
Atomic variants section
- being atomic makes it harder for malware to mess up my critical system files
- rpm-ostree reset
feels so satisfying when I see bloat getting eliminated after layering stuff
- I can rebase to another DE (e.g. from Kinoite to Silverblue) or to a newly released beta without a second thought because I find it stable enough most of the time and if it ever breaks I can simply rollback or rebase back to older release if needed
Snowflake proxy update 14.5
Testing this new format. This uses vnstati.
Just a question though for y'all; do I need to add alt-text for each images? I'm kinda.. lazy.. haha

Fedora Linux 43 to Feature RPM 6
—Linuxiac
「 What do users get out of this? One word- security. RPM 6 comes with signature checking turned on by default, ensuring that only positively verified packages can be installed. In other words, users will no longer be able to install unsigned or tampered packages without explicitly choosing to override the system’s security measures 」
From 8.70 TiB total monthly estimated bandwidth donated to 8.90 TiB. 4.36 TiB rx and 4.54 TiB tx, btw

Finally, a week has passed... I dunno. It just feels really awesome to do this for free.
Still an estimated 10 TiB donated in a month..
Just a tiny little higher, 10.81 TiB instead of 10.73 TiB from last measurement.

Snowflake-proxy got migrated to Proxmox. Looks like I've donated over half a terabyte in just 3 days! YAY!
(1/2) After hours of looking around for a tool to determine the geographical location of the users using my snowflake-proxy, I finally got them!
The sticks o' RAM are finally here !
Time to set up the home server dedicated for the snowflake-proxy, pihole, locally self hosted stuff and more other stuff !
I just discovered why my snowflake-proxy wasn't doing anything..
It's because my PiHole failed for some reason ! Now that it's fixed, it's back donating unlimited bandwidth for people behind non-free countries!
I have donated over ~62.5 GiB (down) and ~65.4 GiB (up) over 7 hours before the power went out for a bit
