Stefano Marinelli<p>As soon as I got confirmation that my presentation was accepted at <a href="https://mastodon.bsd.cafe/tags/BSDCan" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>BSDCan</span></a>, I started following Ottawa's weather forecasts from <a href="https://mastodon.bsd.cafe/tags/FediMeteo" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>FediMeteo</span></a>. It was still cold then, and the temperatures looked frigid! Even though I've been back home for a while now, I still keep an eye on the forecasts. That city and the whole <a href="https://mastodon.bsd.cafe/tags/BSDCan" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>BSDCan</span></a> experience left such a positive and beautiful impression on me. <br>So, every time I get a notification and see the forecast, I relive a bit of those moments.</p>

One of the things I've often worried about is latency. Both for FediMeteo and the BSD Cafe, I've always wondered how high the latency might be around the world, but no one has ever complained.
Now I can check from Canada, and the difference is really minimal - so low it's almost imperceptible. I still think about the wait times for web pages back in the old 56k days... 😆
