For my personal calendar, I have #Radicale 3.4.1 installed on a #Debian VPS. It works great, accessing it from #Thunderbird, or the "Fossify Calendar" (from #FDroid) in #Android. I can read and write events from both clients.

I was gifted an iPad, and the default Calendar app lets me have read-only access (only!) to Radicale. When it comes to writing events, that lofty privilege is reserved for iCloud Calendars only, not those riff-raff Calendars that use CalDAV.

Edit: I eventually sorted it out.

I opened a Github "Discussion" thread (for Radicale) on this:
github.com/Kozea/Radicale/disc

I guess the moral of this story is: Thunderbird, and Fossify Calendar, thanks for being sane! Also, kudos to #Davx5, which I also rely upon a lot in Android, for my CardDAV contacts to work properly - also stored in Radicale.

PS: #Apple is really hoity-toity. I would never choose into buying an Apple device myself, ever again. #DataSovereignty is next to impossible. #OpenSource

The huge version of #Fedilab (3.31.1) was compiled by #FDroid. We are sorry for that, we thought to have made everything to avoid that (3.31.1 exists in a smaller release).
This important difference in size is due to the use of a library that allows to locally detect the language used in a message. We needed it for MinT translator that doesn't support auto detection.
We immediately removed this lib and we used the language attached to a message (though it is not perfect)

Really sorry for that

💾 Hello Fediverse, after a long and dreadful march of persuasion through my contacts, I'm finally about to uninstall #Whatsapp. However, there's a group of people that organizes there, so I want to ask you:

Is there some #Fdroid app or other method to bridge Whatsapp messages to #Telegram or #Signal? I know interoperability is a big ask, but jusg being able to read when they meet would be enough.

Boosts appreciated, so if a solution is found, more people get to know about it!

Time flies when you're busy building apps, but not all #FDroid contributors need to wrangle Python, escape YAML or restart Gitlab pipelines.

If you want to have a saying in the betterment of F-Droid, from the inside, you are welcomed to nominate yourself or somebody else you find worthy for a Board of Directors seat.

You have time until April 14th, so head to: f-droid.org/2025/03/30/board-o
