Hey friends! For the second year in a row, our House of Delegates has passed an “Idaho Stop” law that keeps cyclists safer and out of the way of cars, but we need to make sure it passes the senate. Please contact your state senator and tell them that 40 years of data in states that have passed such a law prove that it's safer for everyone, whether they're or not.

One argument against the law is that pretty much all cyclists already do this, so what's the point? (For that matter, every car driver rolls through stop signs.) But we have a 1% liability law, so if you're hit by a car while doing something technically illegal, you get nothing.

The cops don't like the law on general principle, but you can count on zero hands the number of cyclists that have been ticketed for rolling stop signs which tells you two things: a) it's not like the cops will lose any revenue, and b) cyclists never get a ticket because they're carefully observing their surroundings and being safe!
