Bobbing BoatBoating today was very slow going, but lovely and sunny.With the canal water so low – some say it's down a half foot or more – there's so little water under the boat, the drag is substantial.On the way there was a cute boathouse, with a brick arch that echoes the arch of traditional canal bridges and aqueducts. Bobbing BoatThe canal's water level has dropped further, but I hear via towpath gossip that the breach has been dammed.I still see water slowly flowing in that direction. It's not just duckweed blowing that way in the wind. Deeper particles show all the water is flowing.Judging from the vegetation, the water is just over 6 in. or 16 cm below usual. Bobbing BoatThe water level in the canal dropped a bit overnight.
