Aura (they/she)What I haven’t really been writing about on my page, are the materials I use. These pictures are a part of my collection of embroidery threads. I’ve been making small embroidery pieces over the last years. But it never really became more than that until last year. Before I just had a little bit of thread and embroidery wasn’t my creative medium. The last year, embroidery has become an essential part of my life and I started collecting thread. 🪡🧵<br> <br> I was so lucky to inherit a collection from my partners great grandmother. It is such beautiful threads from the 50-60’s. I’ve also been lucky to find threads in second hand shops, and I found a little collection of threads with small notes attached about what projects the threads were used for - and it was projects from 1972. I enjoy how the history in these threads are embedded into my work of contemporary embroidery. 🌀<br> <br> It is also important for me to make art of mostly reused/ secondhand materials. The same I do with my collages.
